Hey folks! I've decided to start blogging again! It's our first time since 2014.. a little dusty...so here we go!
My name is Blaire Kimball, and I have soft spot for vintage décor, crafts & sparkles! What girl doesn’t right?!? I am the owner and lead planner of Sparkles and Vintage, and I truly love planning weddings & events! This year, I was turning 30, and I knew one thing, it was time to throw myself a party! My number one goal was to support my favorite vendors I’ve met along the years and have a wonderful night with 30 of my closest friends. Today we are being featured on Kara's Party Ideas, for this party, check it out!!
My inspiration: Beautiful Flowers, sparkles, desserts & yummy drinks
As my guests entered, they were welcomed with huge smile & hug and adorned with a flower crown!!
I have a huge sweet tooth and boy do I love dessert! There was 4 different birthday cakes, each a different flavor… diddy riese cookies (a delicacy here in LA), & a sparkly diy photobooth!
B's Tips & Tricks!
When selecting a place to have your party, think about your guests and the ambiance and feel you’d like for them to have when they come in! I wanted a fancy backyard birthday bash, desserts, drinks and ending the night with a firepit, vintage blankets & smores!
B's Tips & Tricks!
Create a signature drink! People will have fun ordering it, and a catchy title will definitely have people coming back for more and more! My favorite color is Pink! So the drink had to be pink!
I love desserts but i really really LOVE CAKE. Like a lot, a lot! So I have FOUR different flavors. From the only bakery I've been going to since 2009... Patrick at Hansen's cakes!
Diddy Riese cookies are a delicacy here in LA also, so we had a great assortment of their cookies too!
Be unique! If you are throwing a party make it YOU!! Start by collecting décor items that speak to you (this was definitely my favorite part in the planning process!) We used vintage mugs for ice cold milk. Collected vintage blankets for the late night firepit & smores. And we also created a diy-photobooth with a sparkly backdrop, garland, carefully collected props & even made handmade signage.
Flower crowns were a must! I wanted my guests to feel welcomed! The Crown Collective totally nailed these crowns!
Chris from Soundwave rocking us with some tunes!
One of my musts for food was my husband's butternut squash soup... holy toledo, it was a hit too!
Always remember, your guests will have a great time, as long as you are! So have fun, put a snazzy outfit on and cheers to being a live! After all, we have one chance to live, might as well throw a party every once and a while”!!
